The Infinite Sea Book Review

Untitled-1

Hello!

Sorry for no posting yesterday but i was on vacations and didn’t leaved any post planned. I did finished “The Infinite Sea” by Rick Yancey. To contrary believe i loved this book.
If you are unaware of what this book is, “The Infinite Sea” is the second book in “The 5th Wave” trilogy. Because of that my review will be short (spoiler free one).

How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

After seeing everyone almost hating this book and saying it was so bad compared with the first one i was a little worried. I did enjoy the first one but this one? I actually think i like it better then the first one!  Maybe i read it with different mind sets or i was in the mood for a book like this.

Character wise, i found Ringer a lot more of a interesting character, comparing with Cassie and reading from Poundcake point of view was the high point. We always read from the point of view of the main character and how their life is difficult but this time we actually understood that everyone else suffered from this catastrophe.

Plot wise, we got a lot more information and knowledge, i found it useful and finally i got the answers i needed.

I gave it 5 out of 5! Have you read it? What is your opinion? Spoiler review next!

5-stars

Plot: Thank the lord Evan isn’t a alien. This was the only thing i hated in the first book. I didn’t understood the weird alien connection/powers, now i can actually understand it. I actually enjoyed the plot a lot more now. The aliens could kills us with only a rock but they want to use humans and clean the planet each human at a time. I was left still with a ton of questions but i found this book more informative.

Ringer: I’m glad she was a POV character. It is not like i don’t like Cassie, i just feel like Ringer and her are really different. I like Ringer more. WHY DID RAZOR HAD TO DIE!!??? WHY? I actually felt in love with him and then BAM! DEAD!… A moment of silence for Ringer last drop of compassion.

Poundcake: Why? I read his chapter and i knew something bad was going to happen. He had one of the best POV of all of them.

Evan and Cassie: I don’t see Zombie and Cassie being a couple so i don’t even consider the triangle i think Rick is trying to give us.
Evan and Cassie i feel have grown since the last book. Evan isn’t as weird and Cassie isn’t as childish. I like the addition of Grace, she was what Voshc intended every assassin to be. I understood a lot more about them.

Zombie and others: They don’t give a lot to the book. This isn’t about them, but they did show they are more mature and don’t see the world as they did before.

I hope you enjoyed this review!

Stay awesome,

Viviana
