After finishing the first book, i kept reading this series. Today i have the review for the second book, “Pretties”. For my review on “Uglies” click here.
Gorgeous. Popular. Perfect.
Tally has finally become pretty. Now her looks are beyond perfect, her clothes are awesome, her boyfriend is totally hot, and she’s completely popular. It’s everything she’s ever wanted.
But beneath all the fun — the nonstop parties, the high-tech luxury, the total freedom — is a nagging sense that something’s wrong. Something important. Then a message from Tally’s ugly past arrives. Reading it, Tally remembers what’s wrong with pretty life, and the fun stops cold.
Now she has to choose between fighting to forget what she knows and fighting for her life — because the authorities don’t intend to let anyone with this information survive.
I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first. Everything is different, Tally and Shay act different and we meet new characters. I can’t say much because of spoilers, but i think this book was a but of a filler, even with all the new information i didn’t felt flat.
Still, great continuation to the series, with an amazing new cast. Full review next.
Gave it 4 stars because i didn’t enjoy Tally has much.
Tally: I like tally is willing to change the system, but i don’t like her attitude feeling like she is invisible. I hate she ended the first book feeling power in her action and ended this one feeling that she had to choose between two boys.
I felt this Tally was the perfect Tally. The ugly tally was more genuine. This pretty tally just wanted to be popular so i don’t think this was the Tally i enjoyed in the first one. The Tally that fell in love with Zane is the pretty one, without memories with confusion on her head. I just hope the cure works.
Zane and David: Zane and David are to faces of the same coin. I didn’t connect with Zane but i didn’t enjoy David attitude (only earing his mother), but both of them were adults while dealing with Tally.
Tribe: AMAZING Plot twist. This was truly entertaining.
Shay: was a great twist really and i hope this keeps up! I like twisty Shay with twisted ideas. KEEP THIS UP!!!
